What numbers are required to be displayed on truck?

I'm getting ready to have my truck lettered, what are the minimum requirements for the different numbers I need to display? I know I need the DOT number, what other numbers are absolutely required?

vin - last 6 numbers (last 8 is optional but preffered by the oregon dot).

Ok, I knew CO wanted VIN, never heard of OR wanting it. I know several drivers that run only the west coast that don't have VIN on their trucks.

pretty positive that the vin is a requirement but i'll double check the green book later.

i was wrong...yet again :) it is just the company name and dot numbers required by the feds and last 8 of vin by colorado - not oregon. last 8 of vin is required by colorado under reg 806.1 unless not registered for CO and running on a permit.

Thanks for doing the hard work for me.

I decided to go with USDOT, VIN, and 86,000 gross. Just those 3 items, well, company name and truck number too.

DOT number ... That's all you need. If they need more they will have you come in. I never had a vin number on a truck. I will admit Colorado does prefer it but not required..

I know bull haulers that only have the DOT number on the frame rail. No lettering on door or nothing. But they usually cross he same scales...

Colorado requires last 8 of VIN on the passenger side.

All the really shady meat haulers from Chicago, the ones that use only Bosnian or Polish non English speaking drivers, have only a meaningless acronym like HEMI or AZI or something, and a DOT number. Too little info really looks fly by night. It looks tacky and I believe it would attract unwanted DOT attention to yourself.
