OPS1 in to a 06 ISX T2000

Min tools in about 15 min

On the left side of engine there is a plug in the side of the block just under and forward of the turbo (make sure the valve on the ops is off):

The mount is easy. On the 06 T2000 the windshield washer mount has 2 holes. They don't match up with the mount but any shop will drill the holes you need for free:

The pos and neg for the power are right there at the alt, just screw them in!

And last but not least, the return hose. Do you last oil change and tell the Mech "don't put the drain plug back. Put this hose instead.

Turn on the input valve and you’re done! I did it in a parking lot in a few min. (FYI put tie downs where needed to keep hoses clear and wrap any hose near a lot of heat as I did in pic one)

I've had mine chked by a shop and sent pic's to OPS all said it was fine and has been on for over 2yr. I can chg filters as quick as I check oil levels all I need is a bag to unscrew the filter into and toss. (at a shop of course)

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I would never run a fitting and hose into the bottom of oil pan so any road hazard could come up and break the hose or fitting off and dump 10 gallons of much needed engine oil on the ground and cost you dearly for engine and labor

If you operate in a place that would hit that far up and with that much force then I guess you shouldn't do it. I've had mine for years and no hits.

JR, I called them this morning. And the do have the 1 filter system, thank god. AND the price is so much better about $750. AND they will finance with NO INTEREST people should love to here. Once I figure out how to install I'm buying one. Good to see these pics, but a vid would be way better. You tube has a vid for a Volva, ISX. :)

JR do you drive the interstate at night? The force of hitting something at night that you don't see until its to late will be enough to snap that fitting right off. I didn't see a part of tire at night and I couldn't move over it cause of traffic so I had no choice and had to straddle it came and actual cracked the oil pan on my Detroit.

As many of us that have it and yet none that I know of have had that happen. That's where it goes. That's where it has always gone. I haven't seen anyone have that problem. It's a risk like anything else. If you don't want to do it don't. But there are thousands of us who do. So this is a site for answers try being helpful.

JR I like the risk to be as small as it can be. I don't know the cummins oil system well enough to say where to run the return line but if this is the only place OPS say hook it up to I wouldn't be using there product.

I guess that's an OK place for it. I mounted mine right underneath the coolant tank. A lot more out of the way of everything else and still easy to plum and service.

you should take a pic and post it so others can see and have an idea about where to put it

Ha HA lol, yeah your kids should be able to help with that. And then others could put up some pics so we all can see all the options.

I have a used OPS I bought. It has 2 metal canisters for the system, one for the filter. It seems difficult to find a place to put them. Is what I have a old system? And is the one pictured here a new system, using only one lime green canister/filter? If so should I just get rid of what I have and get the new OPS?

If you have two filters then you have the old one. Give them a call and see what they do for you.

by

I did call them. They have the new filter far cheaper than the old system. Its $749 & they will finance for free, no interest, About $150 dn, & $150 a month. As soon as I decide if I'm going to get a Pete I'm going to order it.
