Can I purchase an "extension" cable for the KR scanguage?

I bought the KR scanguage for my 2005 Columbia. The plug is on the floor btween the drivers seat and the door. If i run the cable under the door jam and up to the dash it will not reach the right dash panel. Is there an extension cable to extend a couple more feet?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

As a previous poster said, you can find an Ethernet/CAT5 cable relatively cheaply just about anywhere in varying lengths to suit your needs.

However, it may be difficult to find the connector to join the cords! (they look like what you use to run 2 phone cords together, but of course an ethernet cable has a different size plug than a phone cord). If you can't find one at a wal-mart or staples, a computer repair shop may have one (where I got mine), or else you might have to order one on Amazon and pick it up next time you get by the house!

Yes, it is a CAT5 cable, available at also most any store. Get a connector to join the two ends together.

Also known as an Ethernet cable. These are readily available at Wal-Mart and some TA and Petro truck stops (they are located near the laptop accessories). Either a CAT5, CAT5E or CAT6 cable should work.

The connector to join the two ends is called an Ethernet coupler. It will be available at Wal-mart or your favorite electronics retailer (RadioShack, Best Buy,, etc...).

If you've got a few days before you want to set this up and you want to set it up at home, I would highly recommend getting the cable and coupler from, since they have really low prices and fast shipping.

Otherwise, Wal-mart and RadioShack will have what you need.
