You need 5trucks to qualify?

Called NASTC. Sales rep pitched the product, said I could convert my OOIDA Fleetone card to the NASTC program; said I would average over .20 cpg below pump price, then said I don't meet minimum requirements because I'm a two truck/one driver operation. WTF?

I heard Kevin plug this product on his show, and he wasn't speaking to a fleet owner.

She did mention something about sitting through a class at NASTC's HQ in TN, but never followed through with a promised email withnthe details.

This is a general FYI, unless I got bad info from this rep.

Anybody else get dissed like me?

NASTC is for carriers with more then just a few trucks. Yes it sucks and I wish they would make it so any carrier could join but they said any company under 5 trucks had a VERY high rate of failure and they loose money on the small fleets so they don't take them anymore. They took us on when we were just starting out with 1 truck but that was a few years ago. .... Seems to me it's the smallest that would need them the most !!! Crazy I know.

You do have to attend a class, but one truck can join. I'm sure anyone will learn from any class...even one held by Goofy.

Rick Gobble is heard on Dave Nemo's radio show at least 3 or 4 times in a month, at least that.

He is a former state trooper, a federal safety officer with FMCSA, I'm sure you could learn something from him.

Update

You know there are a couple of guys on this venue that shoot off at the mouth before they think...this is a comment, information, and trading of knowledge venue...if you don't agree just skip over it....if you do this you will learn you are wrong most of the time

I called them march 2013. I got the same story. They loose money on small fleets. Said I have to attend a class in TN to get on the fuel program. I think they said I could skip the class if I paid for the premium membership with all kinds of stuff I don't want like compliance training and drug alcohol testing program. I am based in northwest MT and TN is pretty far from where I normally operate.

I just recently became a member with a one truck operation. I save about $120/week with their fuel program. I believe they do some form of background checking before allowing you to become a member.
