I removed the external air cleaners on my W900 and installed a underhood unit off of aT600 and filled it with the fleetair. The only time I notice any kind of air starvation is when I crank up my powerbox over setting 3

I cant really say as I did several small changes at about the same time, I feel that its similar to the wheel cover issue, those cans hanging on the side of the hood have to catch some air even if its not measurable.I mainly did it so l only had to buy 1 fleet air filter

That is a good question. The dual breathers may or may not let the truck breath easier than a single Fleet Air Filter. Then again, having the washable filter will save you money every time those paper filters get dirty. I am interested in hearing what the people at Fleet have to say about this.

It appears they recommend ordering "duals" filters for trucks with the two outside canisters as having just one canister hurts the air flow to the engine of the truck. The alternative is to get a custom under-hood breather (which would improve fuel economy and handling of the truck) and then get a Fleet Air Filter for it.

Either spec depends on your application. Is the truck being used in a dirty environment (Cattle hauling, rock hauling, construction, Agricultural) or is it just being used on the highway?

I don't see how you could get any less air restriction with the fleet filters I have a Western Star with dual air filters and even at 300,000 miles on them the most air restriction I run is right at 8 inch now I could see where fleet filter would help a under the hood.
