How do you display tank average mpg?

Got the ScanGaugeKR. Great product - BUT, I need help in how to display the current tank's MPG. I have set up a new gauge and use the parameters "average" and "tank" - code "03". I named the new gauge "avg" (all lowercase).

When I fillup, I enter the information on the "fillup" portion of the gauge showing I have full tanks. But the "tank avg" does not reset itself. Today I filled up in Illinois and drove two hours to St. Louis. The "AVG" gauge (which I believe is the current average since last key-off event) is not the same as "avg" (the gauge I created above). AVG is showing 6.7 and "avg" is showing 8.0.

What step am I missing? The ScanGauge has helped me to really monitor turbo boost which has improved my fuel economy quite nicely! Last fillup was 6.8 (actual calculation) on a Pete 389 running LTL throughout Wisconsin and 65 MPH on the interstates.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Go under the "ADV Settings" menu and change the "TRIPS" parameter to "AB" instead of "CURRENT". Then go back to the main menu, hit the "TRIPS" button, reset TRIP A and then watch $PA on the main GAUGE screen. Unfortunately, you can't watch your instant MPG for the current tank because it resets every time you shut the key off. You can watch it instantly in a dollar amount (which I think is neat.) Or, you can just stay on the TRIPS screen and keep watching the TRIP A tank MPG (but that will be the only readout you see).

Let me know if this helps.
