Who told you that?

I don't see why it would void the warranty. You are still using the factory filter so Cummins should be happy with that. Also, I've never heard of an engine having problems due to the OPS.

I just ran into this about year ago had my 14 liter Detroit Series 60 rebuild at a Detroit Shop and in order to get the warranty that came with the rebuild I had to read and sign a contract that stated that oil & filters had to be change every 15,000 miles reguardless in order for the warranty to be good and it was legal contract so maybe the truck manufactures are doing something like that.

How are they going to enforce that? They don't keep records of oil changes for warranty?

by

It be the responsibility of the engine owner to prove when the oil changes were done, not for the manufacturer to prove they weren't done.

That would be for an "after market" warranty, right? I bought one when I bought a used truck. I think of it as an opportunity for the warranty company to deny any warranty claim IF you can not provide proof that you have changed your oil as required by the contract. If you agree to that or any contract by signing it, you can expect to be bound by the terms.

ok that law is good for the USA but does anyone know anything about canada. It is the factory warranty and all the mechanics I have talked to about it say that it will void any engine warranty that I have cause it is an add on part and was not from factory. I only have 70 000 miles on the truck so I dont want to put it on if in fact it does void warranty.
