a/c blows hot after replacing heater core

I just replaced heater core on my volvo 770, and now my a/c blows hot, it blows very slightly cold after a while but not enough to use when summer gets going. my bunk blows cold as usual, only the cab blows hot. I replaced the entire gate system and still blows hot. Not sure where to begin from here but noted a/clines under the bunk has some ice on them.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Would be good to just install some faucet type shut off valves on the engine and turn them off during the summer. Don't know much about the Volvo but it has to be something with the control valve that controls the flow of coolant through the heater core

Thanks blackwood, it just makes sense to simply do that instead of starting to mess with heater core again, thats very realistic and simple solution. Although it took a while for me to understand what u meant but will follow through. I suppose i could use any simple shut off valve?

They usually carry them at the dealership but they can also be purchased at Lowe's much cheaper. Just remove the nipple fitting that the heater hose connects to at the block so that you can match up the thread size and nipple size. Some people just install one valve to stop the flow but I install two valves on the inlet and outlet.
