michelin tire account for cheap tires?

Hello all, I heard Kevin telling someone on the radio he was getting his super singles for $750 a tire. I just joined the michelin tire advantage and ss from them are $1050, only $25 less than my tire guy charges. Does anyone know what program that is to get ss that cheap? Thanks

i get a better dicount than that but for example my old employer gets them for 650/piece. national account pricing varies from one carrier/group to another though.

just looked up prices and i can get xta for 764/piece and xdn2 for 886/piece - both xone. larger carriers which purchase a lot of those get deeper discounts.

I checked on the XDN2 XOne price we pay 930 with all the taxes included

Check out www.truckersb2b.com-I've been very impressed with their tire pricing and it's free to join!

Truckersb2b no longer handles Michelin tires. I talked to them this week. I used that Michelin Advantage program and got ripped! They charged me over $1100 per XTA tire. Stay away from the Advantage program, you'll be better off negotiating with your dealer.

that is a rip off. i think i remember seeing a ta ad selling 4 xone xdn2 for around 4400.

Cowser talked to Michelin for me and got me back $1200 on my 4 XOne XTA trailer tires. That brought my cost for the XTA tires to $800 a tire.

Thinking of going super singles, some where on this forum someone knew of a company that was taking them off and going back to duals.

Anyone knows of a situation like that where someone may get into singles reasonable?

thanks for any reply

Update

JZ, I have all steer tires, 2 Good Year tires, 3 Michelin, and a mix of others, but all are in pretty good shape. The tires I'm getting are a lug style tire they are Xone XDN2 all five mounted on aluminum rims, gotta have a spare ya' know

I guess they will have to go one the tractor, I don't know how they will run on the trailer since the model of them are lug style.

Also Cowser Tire in Fort Worth, TX 817-625-8473, gets them quite often. He's located right next to Freightliner in Fort Worth on the north side of I-820 at Blue Mound rd. (aka 156) exit. Give him your name, number and what you want and he'll call you when he gets them. I switched from duels on both Truck and trailer, he had aluminum wheels to switch out for me for my aluminum duels. Compare his price before you go through Michelin Advantage program, as he was cheaper than when I went through the MA program.

I have 5 wide single XDA tires and wheels on hold the 5th tire & wheel is for a spare. Mountd, Installed on tractor tax included for 3859.63. The 4 tires that go on the truck are 80% rubber and the spare is 50%. I'm wanting to know since the tires are lug style can they run on the trailer. If it turns out that I will get better economy putting wide singles on the trailer verses on the tractor.

This is the shop in Indiana JZ mentioned

if you want the michelin tires best way to go is to set up the michelin advantage program and buy tires in Oregon where there is no state sales tax and michelin will charge your card without the sales tax regardless of where you live. I just got 8 bridgestone R195F for my stepdeck and saved about $400 because I got them in oregon and not Cali.

TruckersB2B has national account pricing for Michelin tires. They stopped doing the rebate program on Michelins. If you call them ask to speak to a Sales representative in the state that you are in and they will get you a quote on one of those tires.

tires prices keep going up so i think i'll be switching to the retreads in the future. the xta singles are around $450/piece and xdn2 are around $650. roughly $200-$300 savings per tire.

As of last year, the fleet I was with then switched to all michelin and our prices for michelin tires dropped dramatically.

While I can't tell you all the prices, the example I can offer is this: I got XZA3+'s for 379 $ a piece, whereas they retail around 620 most places (that I asked) and most of the dealers I said told me "*I* can't buy that tire for that much."

Whether or not individuals get that much of a discount by joining the program, I don't know, but I'll be emailing them to find out shortly (as I now need a set of drives). =)
