Can anything in the process of doing an Overhead cause it?

2006 Detroit 60 series 914,000 mls. Was using 3 gal.'s every 25,000 mls. Had a bad oil leak fixed at the flywheel housing and an overhead done. Now using 1 gal. every 1500 mls. Coincidence? Sure is a big one.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Doing the overhead would not give u more oil consumtion unless the valve cover left loose. In which u could see. If the flywheel housing was taking off for bad gasket and rear seal not replaced u could have a leaking rear main if that's the case ur clutch is going to get oil soaked so u may want to ck bell housing and make sure no oil in bell housins also ck to see if diamond seal is leaking
