Would a bad compressor leak air into oil pan?

I have a C15 ACERT MXS

I heard and air leak under the hood while topping off my oil. It was noisy outside but so I had a hard time finding it. But when I put the oil cap back in place the air leak stopped.

I plan on investigating further, but if there is air getting into the oil pan.... does that mean I need to rebuild the compressor?

Answer this question I have this problem too

That is a possibility. If you had a bad unloader valve on the compressor it might not release excess air into the atmosphere but let it go back through the compressor, past the piston into the oil system. Might also be a bad valve in the governor doing that. Does your truck lose air while sitting?

Yes it does, I will be down to 75 lbs in 15mins that's where it will stay unless it dips into the 20's

Your compressor might be fine then unless it's taking oil. I'd start checking all the valves from the comp back to the tanks.

its either the air dryer valve is bad or the air governor is not operating correctly, typically when a compressor is bad it will leak air into the cooling system thus pushing coolant out of the overflow tube

if you have oil in the tanks or in the dryer, the compressor is bad
