Temperature not as hot?

On a 2000 century 120 had fan hub problem was told bearing are bad. . So i got my fan clutch and hub rebuilt last week. I drove the truck around the neighborhood to get it to operating temp and it got to about 170 and it seem to cool down in the 150. Also when driving seems the fan is kicked on. Before this my temp reaches 190 at operating temp. and didn't kicked fan on . Any suggestions. I changed fuse to see if it kicks off above 120 at idle and it did. Im thinking when work was done i should've change thermostat.

Shoot the coolant tube with an infrared thermometer, if it matches the gauge on the dash then bad thermostats. If shows a different temp than gauge then bad coolant temp sensor.

Fan hub troubleshooting:

Turn the key to "on" position without starting the engine. If you can turn the fan by hand means it's fine. If you cannot turn the fan by hand it was rebuilt wrong and is stuck running.

there's also a posibility of a bad fan solenoid.
