Axle ratio & eobr's

My truck is geared for 60 mph @1350 rpm. Cat C-12 445 hp. 3:70 rears. Ifta for 2nd qtr was 8 mpg. 80,000/80% loaded. 1,140,000 mi on truck. If & when eobr's are mandated should I regear to run faster or not worry about it?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Not sure why you would need to run faster anyway. I have been on EOBR for just shy of 2 years and I have not changed a thing. I still run 60-62, sometimes less everywhere. Hasn't negatively affected me. Once you get the hang of how to use an EOBR effectively and plan your moves a little better, then it really is a non issue and it is nice not having to mess with paper. I wouldn't worry about re-gearing or anything else until you have seen how an EOBR plays out in your operation. And whether it gets fully mandated is still up in the air. Worry about that bridge when you get to it.

I would not change it.Going to a 3;42 or 3;55 could lower your fuel mileage.
