ISX losing water into oil

I have a 2005 ISX and have been losing water. Oil samples came back this spring that is was in the oil. I changed inj. o-rings/seals and did not help. Thought head gskt, pulled head and no signs of leak in Head Gskt. Tested head and shop said inj. cups, cost about as much to fix as replace head so we replaced head with NEW RECON HEAD, it is the updated head cummins introduced. still using water, about 1 gallon per 2000 miles. Any ideas???

When you get water in your oil the very first thing you do is pull the oil pan and find your leak. Never pull nothing apart before doing this.

Check the oil cooler. You can pull it apart and test the cooler and it will only cost you the price of a gasket kit. On my 12.7 the gasket kit was about $12.

this seems to be a bit of an issue with the ISX. My buddy has an '10 that has has done the delete to, and has been chasing water leaks for a year. My '12 shows signs of water in oil- advice from Lab and respected shops is - keep track of coolant loss and just drive it until something shows up. waste of money to try and chase it?
