download log book program
downloadable windows 7 logbook. Want to enter and keep logs on my laptop.
Is this a good question?
http://www.driversdailylog.com/ can't beat this program for the money. Logs are easy .Little bit of a learning curve on all the extras it offers. It will do everything the trucking industry demands of you.
Driver Daily Logs also has FREE 30 day trial. So you can try before you buy. They already have july 1 2013 HOS rules. So you can switch any times or test them out if you want. You have to print and HAND sign logs everyday to be DOT legal
I and my co driver use Eclipse logbook both drivers need to have a subcripstions to program, http://www.dieselboss.com/software/eclip..., to get program also a yearly update fee is needed. They also can fax your logs to your company if they support that type logs.
I have been using this for 3 years, along witha scanner and printer. You can enter all your fuel and any cost on the road. At the year end i have a spread sheet to my tax guy. there are many reports that tell me my cost per mile.
I have been using DDL http://www.driversdailylog.com/ for a few years . You can input your digital signature on the logs by following help menu.
You will have to also have a printer in the truck to print logs on demand. But every DOT inspection I've shown them my computer and said i use DDL they usually go no farther. DDL will not let you log illegal. Great program and very user friendly. I print logs to a file on computer for my own record and print 1 copy my carrier. Most large carriers have their logs listed with DDL so you can use that particular format and email. Good luck and enjoy its GREAT!
I have the full ($95) version of Drivers Daily Log (driversdailylog.com) on my ThinkPad with Windows 7 Professional. It is a great program though the $95 version has several owner-operator specific features and a steeper learning curve than the $50 version. I would suggest getting the 30-day trial to see how it works, and then if you like it, get the "lite version" for $50.
Overall, you can't beat this program for the money.
You will need a printer in the truck so you can have printed copies with you and print the logs at the request of an officer. Wal-Mart carries an HP DeskJet printer that fits in small spaces for $29.
Overall, DDL is great and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a log book program.
i have been using DDL for 3 years with gps and love it....
by fmcsa reg's you must print each day (after midnight) and you must sign BY HAND IN INK....!
had dot check my log 5 times and only one time did they ask me to print it and one time asked if i had a printer in the truck.
