No high beams but bulbs are ok

After a few hours of driving with the low beams on my high beams on both sides stop working. When I stop and turn all lights off for a few minutes the high beams will work again for a few hours. Is there a relay that could be overheating?

The problem has not reoccurred since I replaced the turn signal stalk but I will check the relays also. Thanks

the problem has returned,

the dealer said my truck has no relays and that the lights are controlled by the body module. no chance yet to have it looked at.

Then your going to have to trace the lines and find the short.

I'm not sure on your truck but mine has relays. If you do have a relay getting hot then you need to check all your wiring from the headlights back. Check the switch also.

On Freightliners they use at less 2 relay for the headlights. You need to replace them. They are over heating and when you turn the lights off the relay is cooling down.

Yes there is a relay overheating. Next time it happens just look and you'll be able to feel it.

I replaced the turn signal arm which so far seems to have solved the problem.
