How to Adjust wheel bearings?

How do you check bearing adjustment and How do you adjust the bearings?

I'm about to get Micro Blue bearings for my trailer and I think I'm going to change them myself. I've done it on RV's and smaller trailers before but not on a class 8 oil filled hub. I'm thinking I may also have to replace the seals too.

Replacing the seals is highly recommended. Your wheel bearings from MicroBlue should come with directions and recommended torque settings, if they do not, call MicroBlue and they will be able to assist you with the complete walk-through.

I just did this Ronald have been working with Craig on end play right now. Ronald if you have these items a wire feed welder and space heater this procedure will work the best. The old races run a bead of weld all the around on the race on the inside and they will tap out real easy next make sure races have been in the freezer for a while and heat the hub to about 300 degrees and new races will drop right in with no effort let the hub cool and of course the wheel seal then set the end play to .004

Replace the seals and get torque settings from axle manufacture. Don't forget to put new races in freezer much easier to drive them into place. I torqued my bearings to 150 foot lbs and rotate your axle then backed them of to 50 foot lbs per my manufacture specs.

Don't let a weld shop who welds the beads knock out your old races with a giant old rusty iron punch and sledge like they did on my aluminum hubs after I told him I would carry it home and do it myself. Microblue has a downloadable installation sheet and talks about metal "rollover". Took me a good 2 hours to sand out the "rollover" left by the above procedure before installing the new races.
