Are dry rotted tires a time bomb?
I have 2 Michelin XZA3 on my steers that are dry rotted. They are fairly new with plenty of tread left but have been sitting on a truck that only ran once in a while (10k miles a year). They re 16ply and was wondering if I could throw them on the drive axle and maybe get some more miles out of them or should be happy they haven't blown yet.
I know now that the sun will kill $500 tires real quick and to cover them when sitting!
Is this a good question?
