What kind of Batteries should we get?

We use our computers and television when we are sitting and need batteries that will handle this better.

Our current batteries are only 1 year old and are already not holding the charge well. We heard Ken talk about them but was driving and could not write it down.

Please name them and where they can be purchased.

Thanks

The Optima is a good choice. If you are only going to use one set of batteries for starting and inverter loads, then choose the Yellow Top, it's a hybrid, designed for both cold cranking and deep cycle. If you install a separate battery bank just for the inverter, then choose the Blue Top, it's pure deep cycle (RV, Marine, etc)

I switched to Optima Batteries BlueTop Deep cycle D34M about 18mo ago and have had no problems with them. I run our computer, cooler, & fan with our lights on and it starts every morning just fine.

Optima Blues for me too. Plus add a BatteryMinder Charger and plug them in every time you are home. I have had mine 13 months and going strong. Big inverter running big fridge 110% of time, tv, lights, etc.

Look at Advance Auto Parts online. Get em with a 15-20% off sale and free shipping. I really had to search their site hard and ended up doing it with a human on their 800 number.

I switched to the Optima batteries last fall (Nov. 11) and am very happy with them so far. I bought the yellow top, don't remember the model number. The cheapest price I found was on E-Bay, $200 each free shipping.

I got 6 years out of my last set of Optima Yellow tops.

I expect to get more now that I have solar panels to keep peaked off all the time.

Last weekend I checked my 4 batteries with a hydrometer and found they had cells in the yellow, one in the red. Also was able to top off with water. I find it useful knowing that my batteries condition will require replacement before this winter. Suppose I'll go with the Optimal Yellow Top.

I'd recommend to others to keep an eye on battery condition so you can deal with battery issues before they become an emergency.
