When is enough enough
I was a company driver for 31 years . October 2018 I decided to go in to the truck owner operator thing. I bought a used truck which I thought was a good truck 2015 Prostar Cummins isx 15 400,000 miles paid cash. I still had 25,000 in the bank. I worked 7 weeks and had a heart attack off 3 1/2 months. Go back to work I work three weeks tappet goes bad in the fuel pump takes out the front of the motor. Still under warranty but truck was down five weeks. I work from June till December 5th . Because the dealer who fixed the truck did not follow the Cummins procedure for the idler gear it fell off and took out the front of the motor again. My truck has been down three weeks already the dealer who done the original work has agreed to put in a new short block for free which is good but it doesn't help with down time. Now the question is do I sell the truck when I get it back and look for another one. Sell it and go back to being a company driver. Or do I keep going till the truck or me breaks again.
Is this a good question?
