plant based versus animal based diet
My question is this: Most of the research out there says plant based is better than animal based diet. They say you should fill your plate 1/2 to 3/4 with vegetables, small amount of meat, an small amount of good fats. My BF listens to Let’s Truck on XM and says Kevin advocates more meat. My concern is homocysteine levels due to breakdown of animal products. I myself take methylated versions of B12 and folate because my levels were high. High levels of homocysteine are linked to the breakdown of animal products. Elevated levels are associated with heart attack, stroke, and blood clot formation. Thoughts?
Is this a worthwhile discussion?
