6nz into prostar replace maxxforce

Have a 02 IH 9400 6nz cat. Great motor but would like to upgrade to a newer truck. All these IH prostars around 10k with max force engines, and low miles.

Tossing around the idea of putting the cat into a prostar. Anybody try this? Primary concern is electrical, Wiring harness available? If there is a harness well the dash guages work or do I need switch those? Any other problems?

Plan b. Anyone switch frame rails on semi? How much time take u? Cost? If fixed current truck... tyia..

Never done motor swap from one make to another but there's going to be more than electrical wiring issues.

Now for frame rails that is something I've had done before it was 30 years ago and it's not easy it's time consuming and very expensive. It took the shop just little over 2 weeks to change out the frame rails and cost I believe was about 15,000 dollars.

Like Mel said, I'ts going to be more than just electrical. This is going to be a nightmare. If the truck is newer than 02 it will not meet epa requirements and is 100% illegal if you get caught. We have done a few engine swaps and it was a night mare. We swapped a N14 for a series 60 in a FLD Freightliner and it was very difficult and FLDs were made with both engines. You will have lots of trouble and have to fabricate many things, plus find someone to build you a custom wiring harness. I wouldn't do it. Even if you get a reasonable quote from a shop, I guarantee it will end up being way more money and time. I would only swap engines where your replacing it with the same engine that came out.
