Repairs have been done!

I went into the shop, the mechanic said he could hear that the Turbo did not sound right before it even got changed. After he got the old one off, he set it next to the new one & showed me the old one had chunks of metal coming off the inside and you could see the wear it had & damage. He put the new one on & also noticed that the plastic housing that holds the air filter was cracked at the bottom, so this was replaced and I also had a new air filter put on too. Now for the first time yesterday with a tail wind I got 7.0 MPG and my truck has NEVER seen that before. Today it is seeing 5.9 MPG with the crosswinds/headwinds of 45mph, I know for a fact this is way better then before if I was experiencing winds like this I was lucky to see 4.4 mpg. As far as power goes, My power has improved a huge amount , it is one pulling S.O.B & it has never pulled like this since I have had it. I am really itching to see what this truck does with hardly no winds. I am happy with all the help and advice I have got while trying to fix my issues with fuel/hp & want to say a HUGE THANKS TO ALL OF YOU! I will keep you posted on Fuel Mileage once I am able to see what the truck does with less windy days ahead.

Oh that's great. I am so glad they finally got you fixed. That cracked housing was another way the dirt was getting in to your turbo. I'm glad they found that! That increase in fuel mileage will pay for that repair in no time.

Jackie,

I did not know that dirt could get in that way, I really appreciate that information. Thanks! Yes that is what I figure is that this will easily pay for the repairs in no time & start putting money back in my pockets. I figure this will easily save me 1-2 fill ups a week now that I am getting much better mpg per fill up. Thanks Again!
