671696 132 472 Borg Warner

When I google that number it comes up as 472 Performance turbo for 5.9 cummins or Mazda rx-7 racing turbo.

This is whats on my used truck but I dont think its right

I wonder if that's the turbo Pittsburgh power sells. If so that's the best turbo for that engine. Can you post a pic?

The Borg Warner 171702 turbo is the right turbo for the 12.7 (no waste gate). The optimum turbo is the Borg Warner Air Werks S400SX4-75. These are similar turbos that PP sells, but you can get them cheaper elsewhere. They are also used by some racing heads in various smaller engines. I couldn't seem to find any indication of the turbo you mentioned as right for the 12.7. I am assuming here that your DDEC IV is a 12.7 and not a 14L. The turbo you mentioned does have a T6 footprint, which is the correct size for 12.7 application, so it might be just fine.

Prices are reasonable on the web. I found the BW AW S400SX4-75 on Ebay from BuyAutoParts listed for $824 with free shipping. That is a good deal for this top line 12.7 turbo. Will be purchasing one of these for my 12.7 in a glider truck I just ordered.

Cliff, you seem to be the man to ask this question to....I have a 12.7 60 series, and I'm looking to go with the non wastegated turbo. However everyone that suggests the bw171702 seems to have a 500 hp and 1650 TQ. My torque maxes out at 1550 ft lbs and 430/470 HP. ... As told to me right at the Detroit shop. It seems I have a lighter build on my motor. So that being said, is the 171702 too much for my motor? From what I've read it's more for a 470-500 HP motor. Should I be going with maybe the 171701 instead?I've read that it's more for the 435-470 range. Any advice is appreciated. Btw....Also getting the manifold

I think you are on track. For yours, the 171701 should be a better fit.
