How does steerable trailers know what steering angle to turn?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kSonNFZ...

All the rage in Europe and England, Ireland how do these platform trailers turn on a dime also box vans are having this option.

Some I have seen on UTUBE have hydraulics/electronics to change steering on one axle, some change angles on 2-all axles!

Some manufactures use "caster" type mechanical steering. A good idea for the Northeast cities like NYC & Boston.

Saves tremendous tire ware, no scrubbing! I like the remote control features!

the trailers in the video you posted are state of the art and have most likely a bunch of sensors and are computer controlled and cost a lot. I have seen long pole trailers that had self steering axles connected to the fifth wheel plate by cables and that was basically a mechanical system.
