ProfitGauges vs QuickBooks

Can someone tell me the benefit of using Profit Gauges over QuickBooks? At the moment I see Profit Gauges as a recurring cost vs a one time cost for QB. Also see QB as a much more customizable option.

Not putting down PG at all - just trying to decide which way to go when I'm ready to make a decision.

Answer this question I have this problem too

I have been using Quickbooks for my trucking operation for over 20 years. I currently use the online version only because I need to do payroll for drivers, so I am also double entering.

Many of the features in ProfitGauges have been modeled after Quickbooks, but customized for Owner Operators.

The 2 biggest advantages are ease of use and the reporting (Quickbooks cannot do Cost Per Mile)

ProfitGauges Calculates Fuel Mileage

ProfitGauges Calculates Cost per Mile

ProfitGauges Calculates Per Diem

ProfitGauges Data entry is clean and simple because it is designed only for Owner Operators.

The best way to know which one is for you, is to try them side by side for a month. That's why we offer the 30 day test drive. We want you to be sure that this program is right for you.

I'm confident, that once you see how quick and easy it is to do your accounting with ProfitGauges and once you see the reports, you'll see the many benefits of our program.

Be sure to check out the * How to Handle Receipts on the Road Guide then the tutorial on how to enter into ProfitGauges. You'll find a link to the tutorial at the end of the guide. When you put them together it makes for a very simple and powerful way to handle your business accounting.

I had trouble with the $20 each month also. After some research I decided on a program called Truckin Pro 2011. It was a one time cost of $140. I downloaded it to my laptop and I can input any time I want. It keeps all the records on each trip, fuel costs and mileage. All monthly, quarterly and annual reports can be printed. The only thing I do not like is I have to do double entries...one into Truckin Pro and the other into my checking account. Otherwise, I like it very much. I did try profit gages and I did like it but again I did not like the on going $20.
