Dont Buy a Honda Generator

had a honda eu3000is for a year and a half, has a 3 year commercial warranty, lost electrical output, they say it will cost more to repair than it is worth and will not be covered by warranty because it was mounted on a truck even though it was covered up with a honda generator cover

You don't tell any of these shops it's on a commercial truck unless it's commercial grade generator or apu cause the warranty will be voided.

Stuff happens.. If you saved money try another one. Might have been a fluke.

Well, you did say it has a commercial warranty.

The big problem with generators is water and dust, so you really need to keep it sealed up when you're going down the road and out of the rain when you are using it.

Most truck storage boxes that I have seen leak in dust like crazy, it's had to find a weather proof enclosure.

Also all the pounding that a truck dishes out is hard on the generator bearings.

Going on my third year with the same generator and have had no problems runs great.

in the year and a half I had mine it was in the shop 5 times for not starting when it was wet out, (needs to be in an inclosure with 3 feet clearance on each side),

bad battery, (they offered to sell me new one for 185.00, local battery shop charged it for 5.00 , worked great), had broken pull cord, bad receptacle, burned out circuit breaker, inoperative eco throttle, then it just burned up, they refused to cover any of it under warranty, talking to factory did not help, I always kept it covered when not in use and never told them it was on a truck, told them I used it at home, will never spend that kind of money on one of their units again
