All the big companies have way too many short trips in order to keep all the trucks loaded. However, being loaded doesn't mean you have a good trip.A 250 mi. load or a 600 mile load that doesn't delvr for 2 or 3 days is not unusual with these big companies and they act like they are doing you a favor because they gave you a load.Their dispatchers all have an attitude! If you aren't one of their pets, you will get screwed and they will tell you that is all they have avail. They advertise how important their drivers are to them, but actions speak louder than words. This is why they have 100% + turnover rates. I learned all this the hard way. Now i work for a 300 truck co. and get long trips, preplanned on next load and consistent miles and dispatchers are freindly and cooperative. They have a 17% turnover rate. I rest my case.
