I believe the 14L Detroit is the Series 60 that was produced up to 2008 with the different DDEC models you hear and see discused here. It was also produced in the 12.7 L as well. The DD15 and DD13 are the two models of engines Detroit are building currently (15L , and 13L of displacement) . Its like how Cummins switched from the N-14 engine to the ISX they currently produce. The companies started completely from scratch to bring a completely new engine to the market.`
