Title:

96 Cat 3406e temperature sensor location

Text:

Anybody knows where temperature sensor is on 3406e? Everybody says in thermostat housing, but there is 3 sensors (see picture) Just bought KR Scan gauge and found out my Temperature sensor reads out -1F. My temperature gauge reads out fine, never had a temperature problem. I'm one of those guys that put manual fan ON every time the gauge moves just a bit higher, my fan never had to kick on by itself. Actually just now when I got the KR gauge, I tested it that it won't kick ON by itself. But with A/C fan goes ON and OFF just fine. I Also think it might take more fuel, because it thinks it's running cold, I don’t have my fuel economy where it suppose to be in spring. Its about 0.4 mpg higher then last year same time.

2 sensors on top, one with 2 wires, the other one with 1 wire.

1 sensor on side has 2 wires (see picture)

Or where can I get engine component location info?

Thanks guys…guys…[image|2039][image|2040][image|2041]
