Answer to: oil in air tanksWe have found at least a half gallon of oil in the first of three reservoirs and need to know if that will affect braking power. We understand that the compressor is fed oil from the engine and may have a small amount of oil pass through the dryer and into the system, possibly requiring the compressor to be replaced/rebuilt. However, the dryer was full of oil and water, the first reservoir was full of oil and water, and the exhaust valves mounted above the differentials were expelling oil and water. The questions are 1) will oil in the system affect braking power? 2) what kind of time frame is associated with the accumulation of this much oil and water in the system?
