projectors and are they all the same

Hey guys..

Anyone have insite on buying after market projectors.Do they all mount the same way and what kinda prices should i expect to pay..

Heres my issue..

As many of you volvo drvers know that the stock projectors are crap, not enough light gets to the ground...I have tried different bulbs and even hid kits but its winter now and we need the lil bit of heat bulbs produce to keep the lights from iceing up...

I have a 2011 with crappy projectors but wanna upgrade to get more light on the roads to see but seeing im in a company truck,i dont wanna modify the stock lights and i am not paying $700 for a spare set to replace the ones i upgrade.....So im wondering if a better quality projector will basically mount the same as stockers without modifcation..

My boss is tight with $ and sez he is not payin extra for the built in bumper fog light cause drivers keep beatin them up..

Help me put more light on the road guys cause there basically is no place to mount extra lights ..

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

get the 55 watt hid kit with 6000K color bulbs and you should have more than enough light. you could also replace the lenses in your oem lights but that involves some serious work - meaning if you haven't done a projector retrofit you might not want to attempt the swap.

don't buy the cheap ebay hid kits because they're pretty worthless.

Hids are great in warmer climates but as i said with winter driveingi need reg bulbs for the heat to melt ice and snow while driveing..Thats why i want better projectors to get more road light .There is no place to mount aux light and truck doest have the factory bumper lights..Besides my ecu doesnt seem to like 55 w hid and 35 w were no better than normal bulbs

by projector do you mean the whole headlight or the actual projector? you can get better projectors but don't expect a huge difference in the output that the halogen bulb provides. you can also not swap projectors without taking apart the headlight housing and modifying projector mounts to make the new one fit.
