I used to drive a day cab columbia with a c12 hauling trash out of nyc, the truck would run 24 hrs a day for 5/6 days a week. They took a lot of abuse and kept on running, didnt get good fuel mileage or good maintenance, and used alot of oil, but I think if one was properly taken care of it would a good motor

I have a 2000 Freightliner FLD C12 with 1,060,000 miles. Runs good along with good fuel mileage (7.1mpg average) and uses 1 gallon every 5000 miles. Its no power house but it gets the job done at 60mph.

I had one in a 385 Pete ran it for 5 years no real complaints it pulled good ran good averaged just over 6.2 mpg for the time I had it . In a more aero truck should get low 7's without to much trouble

I have to disagree, I drove a '94 Volvo with..... Never mind, that truck had a Cat 3176, not a C-12.
