DD15 DPF and re-gen

I have a 2009 Cascadia with a DD15 that has 580,000 miles on it. DPF was changed first time at 300,000. About 3 weeks ago my check engine light came on. I checked all fluids, belts, hoses and all were fine. Turned truck off and took my break. After getting back on road later, light stayed off for a couple of hours then came back on. Continued driving and about 600 miles later the "manual re-gen recommended" light came on. Did the manual re-gen. Everything ok. Same situation about 6 times between MO-CA-NC. Put truck in shop and had DPF replaced. Everything ok. Have been back on road for a couple of days and it is doing the same thing again. Check engine light then 600 miles later "manual re-gen recommended". Is there something that could be preventing it from doing an automatic re-gen? Has anyone else had this problem?

Your RPM's may be too low for an automatic re-gen. Also, make sure that the light coming on is the "Check Engine" light. There are 3 engine lights together. 1 is amber and says check engine, 1 is red, the 3rd is a picture of engine, but doesn't have anything written across it. If it's the 3rd light coming on sporadically, that is an indication of an EGR problem. This also comes on if you get too high percentage of bio-diesel, or bad fuel. It could also come on when the DPF if getting full and there is something keeping auto re-gen from kicking in, as stated above, low rpm's, or bad EGR sensor.

I would check the NOX sensors both inlet and outlet and the wiring harness for each.
