egr unplug & block off

I have unpluged my EGR. I unhooked bottom plug. This weekend I plan to block off EGR at the intake, is there anything else I have to do? What does top plug on EGR do or control? There is a line on right side of EGR with 1/2 in pipe type thing- what does this line do? would it be a good idea to block off water lines to EGR cooler seeing how its not being used? I have a 2007 isx in a volvo.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

i took out the barometric sensor out of mine about a year ago. At that time i blocked the tube going to the egr for a while and then i was told to unblock it which i did. Didnt have any problems either way but got alot of fluid drained out of the plugged pipe. Now i have just the senor out. I run loads to the west coast all the time. no problems 07 fregithliner columbia 515 det 10 spd

So just unplugging the barometric pressure sensor will do the same trick as soldering resistors into the wiring harness like I saw a guide for? Does it create an engine code? Did you notice an improvement in mileage?

The bottom plug is to the motor which opens and closes the actual EGR valve. The top plug is to the EGR Valve position Sensor. Leave that plugged in. If unplugged it will throw a code showing improper?low voltage. I have my EGR welded shut and the valve stem removed from inside the EGR, I do have the two connections, connected and I get that low voltage code from the sensor but no engine de-rate.

I have an 2006 ISX. Be careful of entering California I have been checked at the bug station on 40. They are actually checking EGR connections.

CARB has hired 1500 enforcement officers and 250 are supposedly on the streets doing inspections.
