problems buying truck in Canada?

Are there any problems/issues anyone has had buying a Canadian truck and bringing it into the US??? I see a LOT of trucks under $17k pre-'03 with 13 speeds and 370/390 gears... wonder if it's worth going up there to look?

Watch out for trucks out of eastern Canada. Major rust and corrosion problems.

I bought a canadian truck. Problems with rust are guaranteed. If truck run cross canada a lot it will be really beaten up, as canadian roads are in bad shape, when compared to interstates.dont do it!

If you need a heavy truck for oilfield western Canada is the only place to look . Western Canadian logging specs or light oilfield trucks make great heavy haul trucks.

Eastern Canadian trucks are all rusty.

Watch out for western dealers reselling eastern trucks.

Canadian trucks beware, they are beat to $&#* on our poor highways. There is a reason why they're cheap.

buy trucks in western canada, but make sure they are true western trucks, also the wiring.calcium chloride is used instead of salt on the roads, and calcium chloride eats up wiring really badly.normally heavy spec'd trucks are used in oilfield.very heavy for highway use,but great for heavy haul

check with customs they will inform you with all the what to do's... I'm sure your going test drive and look at what ever your thinking of buying, always do a search, and make sure you have a Safety Cert. done. remember sales tax is paid to the state your taking it to, the dealer will have the form if buying private you will need to get it yourself.

the price range your looking at 75% of those trucks are pretty beat so look real close and test drive them with a loaded trailer...
