Some CAT dealers have oil labs. I've used Thompson Tractor in Birmingham, AL. Their samples run $20 with a mailer bottle and full service sample. You can get one from any of their dealers. Gulf Coast Filters uses Titan Labs in Denver. You can purchase samples through Gulf coast for $20 a pop too. ''italic text''

I just ordered sample kit from Polaris Labs. I got the Advanced Mobile Analysis test. They are $28.00 EACH. There cheapest shipping charge is $14.57 for ground ship. Total: $42.57 for one test kit. The good news is that this includes the price of the lab test according to the girl/rep.

To sign up just go to the Polaris Lab website. Click on the YELLOW by button and it will take you to a shopping list. The first selection is the Basic. The next one is Advanced Analysis, $28.00. I ordered this one.

I was going to order 4, but since this was my 1st order I thought I'd wait to see how this whole process goes and how often I will test.

I plan on having an oil change and ordering an oil test at Speedco. I'll have them give me a separate sample to put in the Polaris test bottle and send it to Polaris. Then I'll compare the two. I believe Kevin said that Speeco's testing isn't reliable because there equipment is contaminated by other oil tests. I think Speeco uses Mobil Delvic. The oil change with two filters is for a 99 DD is $239.00.

I just looked at the 10 pack. It's $172.00, plus $14.50. I paid $70.00 including shipping for just 2 test kits. The ten pack saves almost about $10.00 per kit. Wow.

I just got quoted $15.40 to ship an oil sample UPS. I went to the post office and shipped it for $2.29! $25 w/o tbn at Blackstone Labs, I think I pay $16.00 for a Cat sample w/o tbn. Kenny Rozmiarek

I order mine from Polaris Labs but I order a quantity of 10 so it works out to 17.50 dollars each sample kit and it cost of 5.85 dollars for ground shipping charges to ship to the lab so a total of 23.35 dollars.

$19.25 at Speedco. I have used them occasionally for a quick check even though I send samples to Oil Analyzers, Inc. the Speedco on site analysis comes in darn close to any sample I have sent to a lab. I have never used Speedco for any oil changes services, but it can be convenient sometimes when I take a sample from my bypass filter. I can swing by, have them run the sample, and get on site results. It can be real handy if you are wanting to keep an eye on something in an oil sample. Having to wait for a sample to get to a lab and get the results is a little discomforting sometimes.

I am on Schaeffer oil now also. Yep, free oil sample kits with free postage and free analysis. Not bad considering the oil is also shipped to my house for free as well. I order a drum and other goodies when I need it, and it gets shipped to me free along with a box of oil sample kits. Now that is cost effective! Especially when I can get a good full synthetic oil, delivered free to me, along with free oil sample kits and analysis, for a price that is very competitive with any pricing at Wally World.

Cliff where do get your oil from and what company processes oil sample and kind of price do you get is this 30 or 50 gallon barrel thanks

Mel Help,

I get the oil direct from Schaeffer. Last time I ordered, a 55 drum of 5w40 synthetic was $1118, delivered free with free oil sample kits and free analysis. Schaeffer themselves does the oil analysis and emails me the report. A 55 drum of 15w40 synthetic blend was $980 and he same deal last time I ordered. I think they had a slight price hike after I ordered. Contact my Schaeffer dealer and he can give you all the info you need. For any order above $375 the shipping is free to your door, so you do not necessarily have to order a large drum. http://www.schaefferoilreps.com/dandykem...
