Anyone using the Tire-SafeGuard TPMS?

Discussion Topic

History

I had a blow out today due to a nail i picked up somewhere on the road. I've had TPM valve stem caps but there's no way to find out about a leak while driving. I found the Tire-SafeGuard and could use some reviews. The system for 6 tires (I run singles) is only $460 which is not bad.

What are you using within a comparable price range?

I just bought the Presser Pro system on E-bay last week for $203, it was the monitor for up to 16 positions and 6 sensors, then I bought 4 more new sensors for $200. I will be installing super singles on truck and trailer with this system next week (4-18-12).

Have you read this forum.

I've read that one but there's no prices there. The one I'm looking at give pressure and current temp on a larger display. Check it out: http://www.TireSafeguard.com/products.ht... a bit pricier but "seems" better than some of the systems that cost around $200. Please, check back in and let me know if yours works well.

Jerzy Zaleski,

I had to add the extra Extended Cabled Antenna Kit in order to get a good reading from the trailer wheels. Now with that on for 2 weeks I have a constance signal on all 10 wheel positions and love having this on my truck. My total cost was $582 for all mounting brackets senors and system (3 for the used sensors from eBay had bad batteries, $35 each for exchange for new) if I had bought it all new it would have been $773.

Matt Jungbluth,

Good info, Matt. I finally went with a system simply called TPMS from eBay for around $300 (tractor only). Works well too. Couldn't you have replaced the batteries in the sensors instead of getting new ones?

Jerzy Zaleski,

No, they are sealed. They have a replacement program, I sent in the old sensors and they refurbish them at the manufacture. They are $50 new and do an exchange for $35.

Matt Jungbluth,

OK, mine come apart and take a small flat battery - available at WalMart etc.

Hey Jerzy ,,,

I know the feeling. After we lost a wide single I decided to buy that same exact unit , except I bought the deluxe model with the signal booster and flow through nozzle caps. Plus we bought 10 for the trailer. I think it was over $600.00 for what we bought. We have not yet installed it so can't report much to you. Soon as we get it installed I will give you a report plus a report on how complicated it was to install.

I hope you were as lucky as I and didn't have to buy a new rim with the tire. I'm thinking about getting the signal booster as well - the loss of signal from cap to receiver seems like the biggest issue on a lot of these systems. I'll be waiting for a review from you. Thanks.

Jerzy Zaleski,

Yes Jerzy we were lucking. We did not need to buy a new rim , never have needed to buy a new one yet. that tiresafegaurd unit worked very poorly and then they would not help us when we could not get it to work. We are looking for a new system now. Maybe doran or pressure pro.

I have the tire safe Gaurd it's only good for about 10 months then the sensors go bad. You can never get in touch with no one and they don't return your calls, I'm looking to buy another system any ideas?

I've been using Pressure Pro System for 7 years now and the batteries in the sensors are just now starting to give me problem other than that the Pressure Pro has been a great system and trouble free wouldn't use anything else.

I've got "Truck Systems Technologies" 14 sensor system monitoring steer, super singles on the drives, and duels on the trailer. I am happy with it it's got a display I've got mounted next to my CB that tells me temp and pressure. http://shop.tsttruck.com/main.sc;jsessio...

I installed that tiresafegaurd system. I could not get a reading from about 3 of the sensors. I would pull sensors off my trailer when we were not pulling our own trailer. No customer service at all from tiresafegaurd , took many many phone calls to get them to send 3 more sensors .... which were the wrong ones ... then they did not work either. No more tiresafegaurd. Maybe we will try the pressure pro system next , Mel says it works good. We shall see ....
