Avoiding State Sales Tax On The Purchase Of Used Tractor

I'm looking for agents that will title my new truck in Ohio, or similar state that doesn't charge a sales tax on the purchase of a tractor. Can anyone suggest a reputable agency?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Title the truck in Kansas. We have no sales tax here if you have an MC number or are leased to a carrier that has one. If they have a dealers license they should know the rules and who to contact for this info.

If you use your carrier MC# there shouldn't be any sales tax. Vehicles subject to excise tax are considered exempt from sales taxes.

The state of New Mexico assesses a sales tax on all vehicle sales; I am not speaking of the federal excise tax.

I just wasted an hour on NMDOT's website trying to find any reference to sales tax but I saw none whatsoever. I realize you were asking about sales tax and not excise tax. My point was that in most states a commercial vehicle rated over 10k is not subject to sales taxes unless for private (non MC) use.
