Any information would help.
I hope someone can help with an answer or ideas.
I have a 2009 Kenworth T2000 with a ISX motor and 13 speed transmission. The truck has around 700,000 miles and had an in-frame about 150,000 miles ago. The truck has had countless pollution problems, sensor replacements and several turbo replacements.
The problem happened while passing a car, the motor simply quit, no warning or anything. After getting the truck off the road, when trying to restart, the motor would not even turn over.
One friend thinks that the oil pump failed. When talking to a mechanic, he said that he thinks that this type of motor has a safety feature that will shut off the motor if the oil pump fails to prevent additional damage. Does anyone know about this?
Also, what do I need to do to be able to tell if the motor is blown?
Hopefully someone will be able to point me in the right direction.
Is this a good question?
