My detroit has 2.79 :1 rears and a 10 direct, 1450 at 60 , about 1550 at 65. You will need 2:64 or lower to run that speed, My fuel mileage is great 57-61 or 62 mph according to the scan guage.

direct drive with 22.5 low pros 2:79 rears 65mph at 1600RPM. 55- 60 mph works better for 2:79

60-65mph its better with 2:64 rears.
