I was wondering the same thing. Cant find anything on the net to tell me yes or no. I have a 2007 14 liter detroit. Would love to replace it with a rebuilt 12.7 like Fitzgerald has.

If your model truck is a model they build gliders out of then its possible. The problem is that it's totally illegal because the engine would have to meet the emission requirements for the year of the engine that originally came out of the truck. Gliders are titled special so that you can put older motors in them. It's going to be difficult to find a shop that will do this work. Your best bet is a small independent shop. However you would have a truck that's not emission compliant, so you have to be very careful about who works on it and your always subject to DOT inspection, if they happen to catch it and want to do something about it. My suggestion for people who want older trucks with no emissions is to find an older truck and refurbish it. There are lots of older trucks with pre emission series 60 detroits on the market. Schneider even has many 2012-2013 gliders with 12.7 detroits all pre emission. So you have options. Wish I had a better answer for you.
