Tell me more about what you want to do. Do you already own the truck and dry van? At minimal you are going to be required to carry 750K in liability insurance, However most places require you to have 1 million, so that is what I recommend. Your going to need a basic cargo insurance policy of $100,000 for general freight. That will get you going. I pay $7500 for my liability and around $1500 for my cargo and that's with some copper endorsements. I've been in business for 11 years with my own authority so a new entry may be more expensive than what I pay. You just have to start calling insurance companies and getting quotes. My liability is through Progressive and my cargo is through Loyds of London. Let me know if I can help with anything else, always willing to try to help.

Friend I would advise you to contact OOIDA or NASTIC to get started. You really need to do your own research . That question can not be answered because there are to many variables. Good luck.

If you are asking complete strangers that question you are not ready to start your own business. Not trying to be a smart @%^ with you....just saying.

I agree with you 100%, but at least give this person a direction to start in. Your reply is not a solution.
