With a flow through muffler you can expect to gain 3 to 4 tenths. So straight pipes should help a bit more, maybe 1/2 MPG.

I have a 379 Pete with a C15. Removed mufflers and stacks and put on 6in x 9ft straights. Didn't do much mpg wise but it runs better. Thinking about moving exhaust under cab.

I have a 2007 Coronado with 60 Series 14L EGR. I have been having fuel economy problems, 1 mpg decrease. For the life of me I could not figure anything out, until I realized.....

Running with a carrier in December, I had no complaints on fuel, other than it was low. I started driving again in feb, a month later, and have had nothing but trouble with my fuel economy. I did determin my injectors were bad, but after replacing and calibrating them, it got worse. I thought about it, and realized, between sitting from December and Febuary, the only thing that changed, is I removed my muffler because it was rusted out and did not have money to replace it, so I strait piped it. I believe this is the problem of my fuel loss. So if you ask me, (until I find otherwise) removing your muffler hurts fuel economy and performace.
