I have found it at Pepboys for $28/gal.

OPS: switching to synthetic oil at high mileage

My volvo motor has 640,000 miles. I have always been told that after 400,000 miles then the motor should never get synthetic but Kevin just said on a podcast to a caller to put the ops on and run synthetic. Maybe I missed something but if this is true then it is good news for me.

OPS: Condensation on dip stick after ops installation

I installed the ops ecopur on my 14 ltr Detroit about 2 months ago. At the same time I switched to synthetic oil. Since then every time the temperature drops below freezing I'm getting condensation on my dip stick. I was wondering if anyone has heard of this happening before.

I have changed the thermostats and the ops seems to be working fine. I did oil sample about 9000 mi after installing the ops. It came back good nothing flagged. No fuel or antifreeze in the oil.

Any help with this would be great.

OPS: Lucas Oil on extended drain and base oil

I have had Mobil Delvac and Shell Rotella and my TBN always gets low. Apparently according to Kevin my cylinder kits are tight since I'm not consuming enough oil to add make up oil to compensate for my TBN. I hear that Lucas has a great oil for maintaining a high TBN. They also tout their oil is great for extended drain intervals. Anyone had any experience using the OPS Eco-pur, extended drains and intervals? I tend to change my 10" @ 25k miles and my extended drain filters every two intervals. Any help will be appreciated.

OPS: extending oil changes in a dodge ram?

I understand the reason for extended oil changes in larger heavy trucks. 8-10 gallons of oil is a huge chunk of change. But would there be any benefit in extending oil changes in a Cummins powered Dodge ? 3 gallons with a filter still adds up, especially today. Good idea or bad?

OPS: Is there a shut off switch/valve on the OPS?

My turbo went out now the shop is recommending replacing the filters. I currently do not have any extra filters and Arty is already gone for the night. I am thinking I seen a switch to shut off the oil flow to OPS but not sure if that is what it is intended for.

The only other option is to find a cross reference filter for a temporary fix.

On the left side of engine there is a plug in the side of the block just under and forward of the turbo (make sure the valve on the ops is off):

The mount is easy. On the 06 T2000 the windshield washer mount has 2 holes. They don't match up with the mount but any shop will drill the holes you need for free:

Turn on the input valve and you’re done! I did it in a parking lot in a few min. (FYI put tie downs where needed to keep hoses clear and wrap any hose near a lot of heat as I did in pic one)

I've had mine chked by a shop and sent pic's to OPS all said it was fine and has been on for over 2yr. I can chg filters as quick as I check oil levels all I need is a bag to unscrew the filter into and toss. (at a shop of course)
